Articles

Individual pieces that feed bigger ideas.

Most of my writing starts as standalone articles: one topic, one strong thread, usually around a couple of thousand words. Some of these pieces stay independent. Others are grouped into larger essay series and, eventually, turned into long-form papers or book chapters.

You’ll usually read the articles themselves on Medium or on LinkedIn. This page is here to give you landmarks: where to start, and how the different series connect.

Main series (essay-level)

Some articles belong to bigger arcs. These arcs are what I refer to as “essays”: a set of pieces that explore a meta-topic from different angles, before being merged into a long-form paper.

  • The Intention Files
A series on how structure, authorship and ethics shape creative work. Includes articles like The Myth of Chaos, The Hidden Ethics of Intention, Where Is Authorship in Games? and Hero’s Journey as Feedback Loops.
  • Metrics of Meaning
Early work on how we talk about value, resonance and depth in games, beyond retention curves and short-term KPIs. Closely linked to the EVI / DVI framework.

When an essay series reaches enough maturity, it usually becomes a structured paper: edited, with an introduction, a conclusion and sometimes extra sections or bonuses. Those longer forms live in the Papers section.

Standalone articles

Not every piece needs to grow into a series. Some articles work best as a single, focused intervention: a sharp idea that feeds into the wider system without needing a whole arc around it.

  • • Observations on production habits and team dynamics.
  • • Shorter reflections on authorship, value, risk and teaching.
  • • Context pieces that support talks, consulting and frameworks.

The full, always-up-to-date list is on Medium. Here, the goal is not to mirror every post, but to show how the ongoing writing feeds the frameworks, papers and tools in the rest of the site.
